Terrible experience last Saturday.The only reason I order an old fashion taxi and not an Uber, is so I can make stops on the way as I need, and ask the driver to keep the meter running. He stopped twice after which told me he hasn’t got time to be waiting around for me and has other clients. I told him about ten times to just keep the meter running and I will be happy to pay for all the time, where he’s just sitting there, making money while he’s waiting - just keep the engine on and keep the meter running. He responded to me ten times, this is not how it works, that the meter stops when the car stops. I called the company and they said it’s very odd he said that, because he can in fact leave the car on and keep the meter running. We did end up arguing with the driver in the car, he told me to ‘SHUT UP’ raised his voice was very confrontational, he pulled over and told me to get out the middle of nowhere. I refused so we stayed there for a while with him not moving and me refusing to leave. He also told me to get an Uber next time. You know what, I will. You cannot compete with Uber in any other way, the only thing you have to offer is being able to pull over on demand, if you can’t do that, what good is it?The company knows very well which driver I’m referring to, as I made a formal complaint and spoke with Paul Wardle who refused to compensate me.Edit: I have been threatened with legal action by the Admin team unless I take down this review.

Had an appointment at the rsch outpatients, booked a cab @13:18 for my appointment at 13:50.The taxi arrived at 13:52.Spoke to the switchboard twice ,Luckily the hospital department still saw me @ 14:10.I was completely stressed by the time I arrived.This not the first time it happened.It happened again for a pre booked cab to take me to Haywards heath,for an operation.The car didnt turn up .Thirdly,was going to Hove for a Birthday celebration and was taken on a tour of Brighton.I think I have been more than fair I will.use someone else in future.

Quite a long way round, Prestonville Arms to Queens Park Road via the town centre and Albion Hill? Nearly £10.00 Had cabs from the back of the station for a lot cheaper. It's a Wednesday evening, not busy.

I had a great taxi ride from the part of Old Shoreham Rd in Portslade to Bevendean. The taxi driver asked if it was ok to go a different route to avoid traffic etc. I agreed. It was a fabulous route! I'll go that way from now on! Cheers
Driver couldn’t care less about doing his job. I asked him to drop me on the right, outside my house and he pulled up two or three houses back on the left. I said ‘on the right’ and he said ‘do you want me to drive over and park outside?’ I just couldn’t be arsed to correct someone who doesn’t care about doing their job. He seem to want cash and I can only pay by card. Further disappointing, my driver.

My driver was a lovely man. He arrived on time and was a safe and careful driver. We had a nice chat and put the world to rights. Unfortunately, when I booked, the gentleman answering the phone must have been having a bad day. No "Good Afternoon, Radio Cabs, Can I help you?" At the end all I got was "We'll see you later". This is so unlike the other times I have booked a car with you. I'm afraid I told him to go and smile before I hung up. He hasn't put me off Radio Cabs. I'll be back.

Storm Bert had hit Brighton on Saturday. I called a streamline cab to pick me up at Waitrose Nevill Road. It was very busy with traffic and queues everywhere.bI waited by tge entrance fir about 40 minutes. It was freezing. Then I saw the taxi had been cancelled. The driver couldn't find me. I was right by the entrance and so visible! So I called Brighton Radio cabs. They turned up so quickly and the cab was so warm after standing in the cold for 40 minutes! Never use streamline! I am not going to now!.

The return journey I had to bring the time forward as the meeting finished early and my cab came to pick up very quickly indeed. Prices were reasonable and fair. They have a good app which can be downloaded after your first booking (similar to Uber but will not use Uber again as have been let down too often).Will definitely use this company again.

Ordered a taxi to take me to the airport was told its £56. when the taxi arrived i was told it would be £60 because its busy and that if i want him to take me this is his price. When i got to the airport he said it was £62. i asked why it had gone up again he said he gets more with uber and he is loosing money by taking me to the airport as he can do 2 jobs for the same money in the city. He was speeding the whole way to the airport as well as tailgating and driving one handed.
I had had a tooth extracted and dentist near Brighton hospital, I’d missed a bus to take me back to Burgess Hill so took 2 buses to get To Patcham. It was pouring with rain, so phoned for a cab, the driver came within 10 minutes. He was very kind, polite and nice to chat to. A good ride for a fixed price. Brighton cabs have always been good. A fair price for a long ride. Highly recommended.

Always nice drivers and it is easy to book by phone and then I get an email confirmation and a text when the driver is on the way. It takes all the worry out of booking a taxi. I have used them for a long time.
I use Radio Cabs taxis a lot and the majority of drivers are excellent. They are friendly and helpful and this is also the case with the operators, the people handling the phones. They are always helpful and informative, such as advising that a taxi might take longer than usual and why. There have been a couple of blips along the way but not enough to stop me from using Radio CabsHazel Kearns

Not a great experience with the service. The first taxi that arrived for us drove off with other passengers. The driver obviously did not check for the name. Ordered another taxi. Waited for confirmation that taxi was on its way but nothing for ages. Cancelled and got the bus. Which made us miss our train. We were at the station when got confirmation taxi was on its way, even though I had cancelled it. Shame to finish our stay in Brighton this way.

I always use radio camps when ordering a taxi in Brighton. They are. MUCH more reliable than Uber and are reasonably priced. The Drivers also know the city routes well.

Lovely young man, very polite gentleman. As a disabled lady I feel quite vulnerable travelling alone, yet this gentleman got me home quickly, with ‘easy’ chat and made me feel comfortable. Tipped him for his politeness and efficiency.

Picked up yesterday by a wonderful driver called Chris. I had to pick up an elderly passenger from the hospital with Dementia. Chris was so understanding and helpful, he even helped me walk her to the door as she was a bit wobbly. He went above and beyond his job and I wanted to send him a massive thank you. It meant so much!(He told me about his dog Trevor…I hope this post reaches the right driver! ☺️)

Ordered a cab as trains would take 40 mins to get me home but 1st cab didn't turn up so in the end it took 45 mins to get home and cost nearly 20 quid as opposed to a fiver and I thought the trains were a lot of money for poor service. The driver that turned up was a nice chap and did a good job though.

Absolutely terrible we told the driver we were going to a wedding and therefore in a hurryHe managed to drive down a closed road necessitating a turn in the road and seemed to have no real idea how to get to the destination. On the other hand he drove so carefully and slowly we could only assume he'd passed his driving test the day before.
I recently had a very unpleasant experience with Brighton and Hove Radio Cabs. I called a taxi and when the driver arrived, he informed me that the company only accepted cash payments. As I did not have any cash on me, only a business payment card he said he would stop at a nearby cashpoint so I could withdraw the necessary amount. I found this quite odd as most taxi companies nowadays accept card payments.He then told me that he was not happy with the distance I was travelling and that he did not want to take me anymore. I was taken aback by his sudden change of heart and felt very uncomfortable. I had no choice but to get out to order another taxi. This was a huge inconvenience for me, especially as I was in a rush to get to my destination.To my surprise, as I was ordering a new taxi, the driver suddenly changed his mind again and told me that he would now accept card payments. I was extremely frustrated and annoyed by this point. I did not want to give my business to a company that treated its customers in such a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. When I arrived at my destination the driver also expected me to give him a tip. Unfortunately, you cannot type rude words into the payment terminal.I was disappointed by the driver's behaviour and felt like I was being taken advantage of. It is unacceptable for a taxi company to only accept cash payments and then change their mind halfway through. This not only caused inconvenience to me but also showed a lack of transparency and trustworthiness from the company's end.I hope that Brighton and Hove Radio Cabs will take the necessary steps to improve their payment methods and ensure that their drivers are trained to handle situations like this more professionally. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and given clear information about the payment methods before getting into the taxi.In conclusion, my experience with Brighton and Hove Radio Cabs was disappointing and I would not recommend their services to anyone. I urge the company to reconsider their payment policies and provide better training to their drivers to avoid similar incidents in the future. The male driver was also using a Zettle payment device he said was not his and did not like using it, the name on my statement shows Linda Smith.
